Identification of SA accident victims begins

South Africa, Mr Godfrey Magwenzi, yesterday said they had so far identified three men and their names will be released soon.

He said they were working with the South African police and relatives in identifying the bodies.
Mr Magwenzi said more relatives were expected to arrive in South Africa by late last night.

“So far we have managed to identify three Zimbabweans through their passports though we are still withholding their names.
“Four others are yet to be identified while the truck driver, who is a Zambian has also been identified. The young boy is believed to be from DRC though efforts are being made to establish his nationality.

“However, we are yet to identify the four who were undocumented and are awaiting the arrivals of some relatives who have been making inquiries from the police. Apparently the minibus had been travelling to Chipinge not Harare as reported by the police earlier.
