Idris Elba got back into action last Sunday filming intense scenes for “The Dark Tower”. Amid scenes of destruction, the 43-year-old actor filmed a shoot-out with co-star Jackie Earle Haley, who plays villain Sayre, on the streets of Dumbo, Brooklyn. Idris takes on the role of Roland “The Gunslinger” Deschain in the movie version of author Stephen King’s fantasy epic.Perfectly representing the character described in the “Dark Tower” novels, the actor wore a grey buckled waistcoat over a white open-neck shirt and red neckerchief.
Over the top he wore a long distressed leather duster which was teamed with faded grey trousers and a leather holster, as well as scruffy tan boots. Bricks and debris littered the ground as the Pacific Rim star rolled around on his back trying to defend himself against his foe.
The British star had his gun drawn as he came face-to-face with Haley who appeared to be on a rampage and ripping the door off a car.
Matthew McConaughey also stars in the upcoming flick as the “Man In Black” but wasn’t spotted on set on Sunday.
The first film in “The Dark Tower” series sees Roland roaming an Old West-like landscape in search of the titular “Dark Tower”, in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world, while also chasing the Man In Black for some answers.
The supernatural fantasy is due to hit cinemas in February 2017, and also Abbey Lee and Jackie Earle Haley. The Luther star is father to two-year-old son Winston, who he shares with ex-girlfriend Naiyana Garth and 14-year-old daughter Isan, from his marriage to Hanne ‘Kim’ Norgaard. – dailymail.
