RISE UP Chothoza Mfana Imbube Expo (RUCMIE) is on a mission to breathe life into imbube music by uniting groups all over Bulawayo.
Mayibongweinkosi Madihwa, the representative of (RUCMIE) said the expo began in 2016 and they have been performing every August at Bulawayo theatre.
“This expo came to life in 2016 when we realised that imbube music was dying and we have been performing for three years every August, and we go under the theme United we stand, divided we fall.
“The groups that have since joined this expo are Black Umfolosi, Sunduza, Great Stars, Ijongosi, Ukukhanya Kwezwe, Indonsakusa the Morning Star, Man of Influence, Ibutho likaKristu, Amaqhawe Enkosi and we are inviting more groups to come on board,” said Madihwa.
He said they are making progress in the process of revitalising Imbube music.
“What I can say is that we are receiving positive results because from the year we began the groups keep on increasing and the crowds are coming in their numbers and this year we are going to perform on 11 August at Bulawayo theatre.”
