In Rhythm with Apostle Vutabwashe

Religion Writer
Heartfelt International Ministries presiding founder Apostle Tavonga Vutabwashe is a humorous man on and off the pulpit.
He delivers most of his preaching, which is dotted with harsh experiences he went through in his life – in a witty manner.
The apostle was at his humorous best at a recent youth camp in Nyanga.
In the scorching sun, Apostle Vutabwashe socialised with the youths during a four-day Success Camp themed “Rhythm”.
Prayer services and question and answer segments interspersed sporting activities like basketball and football, with the 39-year-old Apostle Vutabwashe also taking part in a game of volleyball with some of the 150 youngsters who were part of the outing.
As the lanky charismatic preacher advanced to the playing field, the camp director, Pastor Tonderai Mashaire echoed, “Today you will see the other side of (the) apostle, not on the pulpit but in the field of play.
“How many of you know that (the) apostle is a volleyball player? He is not only a player but a good player,” Pastor Mashaire said.
And what a team player he was! Laughing, high-fiving and celebrating with his team mates as play went on.
The man wearing a suit at the pulpit is a far different creature from the one in sports kit on the field. For a while, he was just another man having fun in the sun.
It was not all games, though.
He presided over the boys’ question and answer segment where they discussed issues that trouble young male adults. These ranged from relationships, circumcision, financial issues and matters of the spirit.
The participants said the outing had been worth their while.
“We are so honored to have this humble man of God during our time, he is a very busy man and always his schedules are tight but he found time to be with us.
We really have to capitalise on this opportunity to get wisdom, otherwise we will live to regret it,” said one member of his church.
Apostle Vutabwashe delivered inspirational and motivational teachings, with his day one presentation on “How to be successful in life” setting the tone for the camp.
Inspiring the youths to be innovative and creative, Apostle Vutabwashe and his wife Chipo challenged the group with tasks which included fundraising.
“These tasks will help you to be better thinkers, the world now rewards thinkers, big thinkers. And for you to win this global war you have to be very innovative,” Apostle Vutabwashe said.
Seized with the challenge to raise money, one of the groups, The Eagles surpassed their US$300 target and their t-shirt design was voted the best.
