TWO teenage cousins whose incestuous affair resulted in a pregnancy said they were sexually attracted to each other and continue to be.
Although it was not their intention to have a child they enjoyed sex together.
a�?He proposed love and I agreed. After two days we started having sex,a�? his warned and cautioned statement reads.
They had it like bunnies.
a�?We even did it in the afternoon when granny was away. At night he would sneak into my room,a�? she said.
It is alleged she started sleeping with her 17-year-old cousin in April this year.
The court heard the two indulged in sex on several occasions between April and August this year.
The pair has since appeared before Lupane resident magistrate Ndumo Masuku facing an incest charge.
Prosecutor Sanders Sibanda said their grandmother observed changes in the girl.
a�?She noticed a bulging tummy and that her breasts were getting big. As a result she asked questions and the girl revealed that she is pregnant,a�? said Sibanda.
Because of her age, a police report was made and the girl was taken to St. Lukea��s Hospital where a pregnancy test was done which read positive.
Thata��s when she revealed the father of the child.
In his warned and cautioned statement the 17-year-old boy said his cousin was attractive and so he couldna��t resist.
a�?She was attractive to me. I proposed love and she accepted my proposal. We engaged in sex on several occasions,a�? he said.
They were remanded out of custody to 16 August.
