INDONESIA has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening trade and economic relations with Zimbabwe as the Asian nation moves to expand its footprint in the local market and the region.
In a statement, the Embassy of Indonesia in Zimbabwe said the move was in line with the Second Republic’s “Open for Business” policy, which continues to attract growing international interest.
The embassy confirmed that Indonesia is participating in the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair 2026 in Bulawayo, one of the region’s premier trade exhibitions, as part of efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation.
“As part of this commitment, Indonesia will participate in the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair 2026 in Bulawayo, marking another milestone in its longstanding presence at one of the region’s premier trade exhibitions,” reads the statement.
The Embassy said the participation reflected Indonesia’s confidence in Zimbabwe as a “promising and reliable partner in Africa” and presents an opportunity to unlock new trade and investment prospects.
It said an Indonesian firm, PT Wings Corp Indonesia, will be introduced into the Zimbabwean market, signalling growing private sector interest.
“A key highlight of this year’s engagement is the introduction of PT. Wings Corp Indonesia to the Zimbabwean market, demonstrating Indonesia’s readiness to expand its private sector footprint,” reads the statement.
PT Wings Corp Indonesia is recognised as a leading local manufacturer and distributor of household and personal care products. Blending local knowledge and advanced manufacturing technologies, Wings is dedicated to the company’s vision of providing quality products at affordable prices.
The embassy also facilitated a partnership between PT Dami Sariwana and Kumbucha, which will be showcased during the Trade Fair.
“This collaboration represents a tangible step toward industrial cooperation and value creation between the two nations,” reads the statement.
Several Indonesian companies are exhibiting at the fair, including PT ABC President Indonesia, Khong Guan Indonesia, PT Konimex, Blankenheim Indonesia, PT Duniatex and PT Mitra Saruta Indonesia.
The embassy said the participation of the firms highlights Indonesia’s diverse industrial base spanning food processing, pharmaceuticals and textiles.
It added that Zimbabwe remains a strategic gateway to regional markets with strong potential for increased trade, investment and economic cooperation between the two countries.
