International ring exposed for selling fake as high-end vintage wines

French and Italian authorities have dismantled an international fraud ring accused of selling counterfeit wine bottles, misleading buyers into believing they were purchasing rare vintages worth up to Euro 15,000 (Pounds 12,500) each.

Six individuals, including a 40-year-old Russian national identified as the suspected ringleader, were arrested in coordinated raids across Paris, Turin, and Milan.

The group is believed to have produced fake labels mimicking prestigious French vineyards, which were then sold at full market value through global wine traders.

French prosecutors report that the operation netted approximately Euro 2 million from the fraudulent sales.
