Investors monitor mixed results

LISTED stocks reported mixed results last week and the trend is set to continue this week as more counters report either half year or year-end results for the period ending 30 June.
The mixed results saw banking stocks reporting profits while manufacturing and construction companies reported losses for the period under review.

The last week saw four banking stocks namely BancABC, NMB, ZB Financial Holdings, FBC Holdings Limited reporting their half-year results for the period ended 30 June 2014. Other stocks that came out with their results were Afdis, Turnall, Zimplow, TA Holdings and Masimba Holdings.

The mixed results saw the market closing the week down on Friday, amid mixed trading and thin volumes. The Industrial Index fell 0,22 percent to close at 196.43 points, while the Mining Index gained 0,42 percent to close at 104.8 points.

The risers were: Hwange, up 14,29 percent to close at 8c; Afsun gained 9,52 percent to close at 2.3c; Padenga added 1,19 percent to close at 8.5c; CBZ was up 0,83 percent to close at 12.1c. The fallers were: Cafca, down 18,18 percent to close at 27c; Rio fell 15,38 percent to close at 22c; ZHL fell 10 percent to close at 0.9c; NMB was down 8,7 percent to close at 4.2c; and Pearl lost 6,33 percent to close at 2.81c. Volumes were thin, boosted by trades in Innscor, Seedco and Bindura and the value of trades was just under $843 000.
