The Iranian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Mohammed Pournajaf applauded the initiative saying Zimbabweans deserved healthy lives as much as their Iranian counterparts.
“The relations between Zimbabwe and the Republic of Iran date back to the days of the liberation struggle hence it is important to assist Zimbabweans in preventing non-communicable diseases and promoting good health because it is their right, “he said.
The clinic’s manager Dr Amin Hamidzadeh said the organisation promotes healthy living for the Zimbabwean people.
“We promote good health for the people of Zimbabwe through these annual free treatment and blood screening campaigns to curb non-communicable diseases which have become the new scare,” said Dr Hamidzadeh.
The programme targets such diseases as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol levels in blood and obesity.
The clinic, in conjunction with Medical Air Rescue Service and other medical practitioners, also concurrently hosted a Health Medical Expo spearheaded by the Health Advisor in the Office of the President and Cabinet Dr Timothy Stamps.
