IS HE NOW THE DEADLY RASHFORD OF SUPA DISKI?

IN-FORM Zimbabwe international forward, Knox Mutizwa, scored his FOURTH goal in three matches to power Golden Arrows to an impressive 3-2 win over Kaizer Chiefs at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

The Warriors forward is the hottest forward in the South African Premiership.

He was also named man-of-the-match.

Some of the Arrows fans have now nicknamed him Rashford, because they believe he is on the same hot streak as the Manchester United forward.

The defeat was hard to swallow for the Chiefs fans with coach Arthur Zwane admitting he understood fans’ disappointment as a police escort was deployed after the match.

The Amakhosi were leading Sunday’s encounter 2-1 before a late Mutizwa brace clinched a dramatic win for Arrows.

A deflated Zwane said that fans were within their rights to show their displeasure after jeers were heard around the stadium at the full-time whistle.

Alarmingly, a police escort in the form of a barricade was deployed at the final whistle to prevent disgruntled fans from invading the pitch.

“Look, it’s within their rights. I mean they are disappointed and they believe we should have won this game,” Zwane said post-match.

“I also believe we should have wrapped it up first half. We let ourselves down and I understand their frustration. We had a number of chances.

“Today is one game for me we should have scored at least six from the first half and you look at the second half, we ended up conceding three goals unnecessarily.

“But it is one of those things where you have a bad day at the office.”

Zwane’s disastrous record as head coach compares unfavourably to previous Chiefs coaches as the rudderless Soweto giants drift aimlessly in their search for silverware.

The coach will be left scratching his head yet again after reaching his 20th league encounter with yet another defeat after a demoralising loss to Golden Arrows.

It was a result that left Chiefs with 28 points from 20 games and a negative goal difference in fifth position.

Chiefs have won as many games as they have lost (eight) with the other four ending in draws with the biggest disappointment being that they have conceded as many as 24 in the 20 league games under review.

At this two thirds juncture, the Amakhosi are now worse off than they were last season under Stuart Baxter.

Chiefs had gathered 35 points at this point (20 games) before Baxter was sacked towards the end of the season after defeat to SuperSport United leaving Zwane and Dillon Sheppard to take charge of the last seven league games.

The Other Coaches

Gavin Hunt – 24 points (2020/21) – Chiefs finished in eighth position.

Stuart Baxter – 35 points (2021/22) – Chiefs ended up fifth. Sports Reporter/KickOff.com
