ARE Scottland poised to strike again in the Highlanders camp by taking McKinnon Mushore?

After being confirmed as the ZIFA Northern Region Soccer League champions, the ambitious Harare side, nicknamed ‘Mabvirabvira’ appear to be adopting an aggressive approach in the transfer market.

Scottland have a US$1,6 million kit from businessman Wicknell Chivhayo to start their campaign in the top-flight league.

This should give them the resources to lure a number of seasoned players into their fold.

They had already endeared themselves to many potential suitors with the way they handsomely paid their players during their debut season in the ZIFA Northern Region Division One League.

In the final two months of the season, the Scottland players and coaches were the highest paid footballers and technical staff in the country.

Scottland have already been linked with Golden Boot winner Lynoth Chikuhwa and Bosso captain Peter Muduhwa.

Now, sources have said Mushore has now emerged as their next target.

Mushore was one of the standout players in the Highlanders midfield during the past campaign.

Unlike Muduhwa and Chikuhwa, whose contracts expire on December 31, Mushore still has a running contract with Bosso.

However, Bosso executive secretary Morgan Dube said they are yet to be approached by any club for any of their players.

“No one has spoken to Highlanders about players and we have not had any offers for McKinnon,” said Dube.

Scottland are on a shopping spree ahead of their debut campaign in the country’s top-flight league and are believed to have lured key Simba Bhora players.

Captain Walter Musona, goalkeeper Talbert Shumba, midfielders Mthokozisi Msebe, Vassili Kawe and Tichaona Chipunza have been linked with the Mabvuku side.

Simba Bhora coach Tonderai Ndiraya, who won his first league title in the just-ended season, is also believed to be lining up a move to Scottland.
