HERENTALS coach, Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva, says their focus is on collecting their first set of maximum points when they face Ngezi tomorrow.
The Students will travel to Baobab for a Good Friday encounter in the Castle Premier League.
“We are trying to polish up the boys so that we do better than what we did in our previous games,” the coach said.
“We are working as a team, working towards getting the three points that we all want.
“We are trying to improve the team so that we can get a better performance in the next game.
“Everyone is available for selection and we are happy that the selection base is wide with everyone being available.
“That, on its own, gives us competition for jerseys going into the game,” he said.
Herentals have so far drawn two games and lost one.
Mutiwekuziva said they are working on their defending aspects going into their next game.
“We haven’t been collecting points, for sure, we need to make sure that our defending is good.
“We are conceding and we need to be solid in our defending, that’s the first thing.
“Clean sheets are very important for a team if you want to progress well.”
He added:
“So, we need to defend well, have clean sheets and at the same time score goals.
“We have so far scored two, we have to be sharper in front of goal.
“But, in terms of chance creation, we are good, we just need to work on our finishing so that we get more goals to win matches.”
It will be their third away game in their opening four matches.
“The last game we played was our first home game and it’s still too early to be under pressure.
“We still need to fine-tune the boys so that they are prepared for the upcoming games, particularly the next assignment against Ngezi.
“Last season, we had the better of them in the Chibuku Super Cup and also the return leg here in Harare so that also gives us confidence.”
