SOUTH Africa-based Afro Jazz singer, Tedias Maringehose, also known as ‘Keptain Dzimbahwe’, says the so-called greener pastures, away from home, are just a myth and artists have to hustle every day just to survive.
The 30-year-old singer began his musical journey around 2010 before moving to South Africa.
He said being away from home is not as easy as many would like others to believe and a lot of hard work has to be put in just to make ends meet.
He has released several singles, as well as his first album titled paHukama, which features eight tracks.
“Tongoita rese rese to earn little to pay our bills.
“I can’t say there’s a breakthrough yet but people who know my music are really enjoying it more than ever.
“They can see a brighter future in my journey.
“Being away from home is never easy and the greener pastures we are looking for are far from being seen but we just have to keep on hustling,” he said.
Among the single tracks he has released are Delilah, Saina and Matambiro.
He has been working with producers like T Man from Mt Zion and Trinnie beats from Bigyardz Music Studios.
