Presenting her show tonight will be Power FM’s Tendai Chakanyuka aka “The Sweet Thang” back to back with Ronald “D-Train” Chiwanza for some rare R&B grooves.
Tomorow, the house will be on fire with the veteran Bridget “Bubbles” Gavanga, who is expected to serenade music lovers on a fantastic voyage of classic R&B and hip-hop. “Bubbles” is a favourite of many listeners since her days when she used to present the Morning Cruise show on radio.
While things will be happening at the hotel, the legendary Kudzi “Mr Kool” Marudza will be throwing down some serious old skool music at the ZimCafe Restaurant alongside DJ Dee Blaze on Friday night.
On Saturday it will non-stop partying with Dee Blaze and D-Train and those who love dance should bring their dancing shoes. The Easter winds up with a show on Sunday when Mr Kool and Dee Blaze bring down the house.
Meanwhile, well-known radio deejay Witness “Chuman” Matema continues with his “Chu-jazz” every Thursday night at ZimCafe Restaurant when he presents the popular show “Chu-jazz.”
Chuman, as he is popularly known by fans, will be mixing up things on the turntables playing some of the old jazz classic from the 1980s right through to the 1990s.
Arguably one of the finest DJs when it comes to jazz, Chuman has been hosting jazz sessions in the last decade where he earned the respect of jazz Connoisseurs.
As part of the founders of Huggies Entertainment, a group of DJs who specialise in old skool music, Chuman has travelled the length and breadth of Zimbabwe rocking the masses with yesteryear hits. Alongside the legendary “Mr Kool” and Ronald “D-Train” Chiwanza, the trio commands a huge following every Friday night at ZimCafe Hotel.
“Basically, I will be throwing down some laid-back tunes from the afro-jazz gurus like Bra Hugh, Jonathan Butler, to Jimmy Dludlu, George Benson, Dean Amonds, Groover Washington and others. If you love jazz music this is a session not to miss as we celebrate the Easter holidays,” he said.
