eggs on arrival. The fun for the children does not end there as there will be jumping castles and face painting.
But for the mature crowd there is going to be new exciting stunts which will be unveiled by some of Harare’s old school spinners.

The burnouts extravaganza will showcase some awe-inspiring stunts as the masters of car manoeuvring will take spinning to a whole new level.
Several accomplished spinners will be on parade, among them Fat Cat, Goofa, Anonymous Spin Kid, Fuzzy l, Taku, Tawie, Warick, Smokey, Shannon and Maurice.

Monsol “Fuzzy l” Fazilahmed, who is making a return to the local burnouts arena after a long period of absence, said enthusiasts of the sport should brace themselves for spinning action that has never been witnessed before.

The event will go a gear up at the after-party at Arcadia Sports Club where DJs on rotation will be rocking the turntables. Ladies who come before 10pm will enter free of charge.
But the highlight of the family fun day will be the car spinning show, featuring the doyen of car spinning, Fat Cat aka Isaac Mayor and his two sons — Maurice and Shannon — who have been spinning their BMWs for the last couple of months.

The three are expected to leave Arcadia Sports Club up in smoke during the show which is also known as the “burnout”. Fat Cat, who owns a BMW’s 3 Series of its kind, is not a newcomer when it comes to spinning. It’s more than a decade since he started out with his BMW 3 Series in 2000 which he later handed down to one of his sons.
Fat Cat is adored within the Arcadia community for his dexterity behind the wheels.

Another car spinner, Taku aka “Spin King of Drift”, will be rocking the crowds with some breathtaking skills behind the wheels. At 20, Taku has become one of the most sought-after car spinners in the capital.
Another top spinner to look forward to is Tawie as well as Anonymous Spin Kid.

Tawie will be featuring at the show for the first time. As part of the showcase, there is going to be an exhibit of BMW E39 V8 which will be taken for a spin. According to Fat Cat, the organiser of Easter Spin Fest, the show is one not to be missed for those who love to braai, drink and enjoy music.
“The show brings together all the exciting activities from fun games for children, braai, drinks to car spinning and admission is only US$5.

“It will be a great day for a family outing because there is going to be tight security from Nobsec, one of our sponsors, including Factcat Motors, Allway Motors, Mix Masters and BGI Financial Services, who providing insurance at the spin fest.
“Spinning enters a new dimension with old school spinners unveiling new tricks. It promises to be an exciting day of spinning as all the local top spinners will be taking part,” he said.

Burnouts are judged on crowd response with style and attitude being important factors and these are expected to take centre stage at the Easter Spin Fest dubbed the ‘Old School Spinners Reunion,’ which will be hosted by Fat Cat Motors.
