It’s spin time again!

Added to the fun will be non-stop music by the League of Extraordinary DJs who include Shy Spin, Patch, Ren-X and J Dub on the turntables.

The show, organised by Platinum Entertainment and Fat Cat Motors, starts at 12 in the afternoon until 6pm. Thereafter, the party continues with the Platinum Entertainment DJs including Boss Spencer, Big Dollar Bruce, Sibs, Phatman, Lee, Easy H, Boss Ali as well as Young Fresh mixing it up on the                         decks.

Those who love to braai and drink will be pleased to see BBQs and chilled drinks at the food stalls dotted around Arcadia Sports Club.
But the afternoon spinning will see the return of Feroz Crew from South Africa including Brian and Zele who rocked the Borrowdale Race Course earlier this year. The crew is well known for their breathtaking skills at “burn outs” where they screech tyres, jump in and out of the spinning car and even stand on the bonnet while it is in motion.

The family fun day will also feature thrilling performances from the doyen of car spinning, Fat Cat aka Isaac Mayor, who is expected to leave Arcadia Sports Club up in smoke during the show which is also known as the “burn out”.

Fat Cat is not a newcomer when it comes to spinning. It has been a decade since he started out with his BMW 3 Series.
Isaac Mayor is adored within the Arcadia community for his dexterity behind the wheel.

Other spinners scheduled to take part include Fat Cat’s son, Maurice Mayor, who has been showcasing his skills behind the wheels since 2008.
Another car spinner, Taku aka “Spin King of Drift”, will be rocking the crowds with action behind the wheel. At 20, Taku has become one of the most sought-after car spinners in Harare.

Taku will also be complemented by two other spinners – Tawie and Anonymous Spin Kid – at the show. Boss Spencer, one of the organisers, said the show was a must attend for those who love to braai, drink and enjoy music. “The show is a mixed bag of fashion, music, dance, food and drink which are part of the fun at the Spin Fest.

It will be a great day for a family outing because children under 12 will attend the show for free,” he said.
The last time the “Spin Fest” was held at Arcadia Sports Club the spinners left the crowd with some goose bumps. In South Africa car spinning is legal, provided it is done in an enclosed arena, which revellers call a “spin.”
