It’s time to pray not to play

It is a privilege to pray. The best definition of prayer is one’s experience with God in a place of prayer. Prayer is the slender nerve that pulls God’s muscles. Prayer is the soul on its knees.
Prayer is the channel through which one commits the integrity of God to make good of His promises. Prayer is the key opening the morning and locking the night. Prayer is the channel of fellowship. Prayer is the channel of revelation (Psalm 119:18).
Prayer is the earthly licence for heavenly interference. Prayer is the channel of empowerment. Prayer gets all your needs to fulfil your purpose on earth. Life experiences in prayer rooms had caused various Christians to come out with diverse definitions of prayer.
In my Christian experience I have come to conclude that prayer is the practice of the presence of God. It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting one’s need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence on God.
Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of the Father through the Son of God, Jesus our Lord.
The Bible speaks much of prayer. But many Christians ignore prayer and seek to accomplish in the strength of their own wills those things that they desire to have or happen.
Let it be known that prayer changes the one praying because in it, one is in the presence of God as one lay before Him completely in self in confession and dependence. In so doing, our hearts are quieted and pride is stripped and we enjoy the presence of God. James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
Prayer is generally described as communication between man and his God. In Luke 18:1, the Lord emphasised that men ought to pray always without ceasing. Prayer is connecting man to his source of life. No prayer, no meaningful life at all.
A christian who does not pray is like a fish out of water. My life experiences have taught me that a person who is a stranger to prayer is also a stranger to power. Without prayer a person is disconnected from the creator and Almighty God. Therefore, prayer is a two way communication, between God and humanity. When one prays and that person has a right standing with the Lord, his or her prayers are answered.  Prayerlessness is sin. Prayerlessness is pride at its highest level. By not praying one is giving room to the devil to use one as his workshop. A praying family is a powerful family and a praying nation is like a jewel in the sight of God.  Zimbabweans it’s time to pray.
Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa in one of his inspiring sermons Direct Prayer, lamented that some Christians’ ineffective long prayers yield no answer at all. Our father in the Lord prescribed a change in the kind of prayers Christians pray — to discard what I call ice-cream prayers.
Prophet Makandiwa went on further to compare praying with a business that is after making profits.  Prayer is going out in question and coming back with an answer.
Prayer must have a plan, focus and purpose for it to make an impact.
Prayer must have direction and a target. Zimbabwe it’s time to pray! It’s time to pray not to play. There is need for more intercessions and less Internet.
More fasting and less feasting. Our God as Zimbabweans has remembered us. Therefore, if a watchman blows the trumpet, Christians are expected to dance to the beat of that drummer to the glory of God. This is for the benefit of all praying Christians. I have come to realise again that it’s not over praying that is a challenge.
It’s under praying that brews problems for man and women. Praying is like depositing money in one’s account and at an appointed time one gets interest.
Prayers outlive prayer candidates and they outlive a generation, outlive an age, and outlive a world. In the book of Revelation 5:8, we can see the importance Saint prayers before God and how they are important tools for advancing the Kingdom.
Man ought to pray without ceasing. Many people would want to know why they should pray, and in this article, an answer is provided. Without prayer God will never do anything for men. No prayer no fulfilled promises.
Prophet Makandiwa said no prayer no results. In 1 Kings 18 the Lord promised to send rain on the earth, but Elijah had to pray.
God knew very well that the children of Israel suffered so much in the hands of the Egyptians and they had a promise to get out of Egypt into the Promised Land, but they had to pray unto God, who later raised them Moses their deliverer.
Men ought always to pray without ceasing.
Our Lord Jesus shows His displeasure at temple leaders abusing a house of prayer for a market (Matthew 21:13). Contemporary churches are also guilty of prayerlessness. There is need for another whip from the Lord on the modern day Christian for abandoning prayer on the altar of technology.
In today’s churches child abuse abounds, rape is a pastime for powers that be, fornication and adultery are commonplace. It goes without saying that a closed mouth is a closed destiny. We need prayers and our nation institutions need prayers.
It is high time Zimbabwean christians understood that prayer is the conveyor belt of God’s power.
I would venture say prayer is a love affair with God. I would venture ask a pointed question to the body of Christ. Where is the church? Let us pray!
I have come to understand that prayer converts promises to performances. Prayer puts God in full force in the world. The infinite resources of God are at the command of prayer. If a church is prayerful, the glorious power of God becomes present.
In United Family International Church (UFIC), Prophet Makandiwa has demonstrated the raw power of God through prayer.
Prophet Makandiwa is a man of prayer, he is calling all likeminded Christians across the nation to pray always for our beloved country for its continual peace and prosperity. To my utter amazement in UFIC, I have observed with gratification that prayer is the rail track on which the locomotive of God’s power moves.
Today, contemporary churches are removing the ancient land marks (Proverbs 22:28). The devil is at work keeping men and women from prayer. Leaders of churches and your assistants, it’s time to keep the church on its knees than to tie it to the so called constitutions and doctrines, Christ is looking for a praying bride.
Let me remind you of a very important encounter with God through prayer at the National Stadium on April 6, 2012. This is a judgment night for any power of darkness that had padlocked your success to release your breakthroughs.
