RISING musician, Kelvin ‘Mr Attention’ Chisango, says he is yet to receive even a cent for his hit song, Gore, which was a collaboration with Isamel ‘216 Whisky’ Whisky.
The track was uploaded on 216’s YouTube channel on December 8, 2023, and to date, it has 511,360 views.
It has gained significant commercial success since its release.
Mr Attention claims his partner could be giving him a raw deal.
“Get this right, I have no problem with the song Gore Remix, since we agreed with all the artists who featured on it.
“But the problem is on the original song, Gore, which Whisky has not attempted to honour the royalties which belong to me.
“He said I didn’t invest anything on the project so I don’t deserve anything but I contributed on the song, the lyrics.
“It was actually my idea.
“We should meet somewhere in between but it’s turning out to be a competition.
“He actually approached me and I contributed,” said Mr Attention.
He said his relationship with Whisky has turned soured.
“Akandisuka and no cent to show kuti ndakaisawo effort.
“I have since deleted his number, akandivharira panze.
“He uploaded the song on his account and nothing for me, I just want to protect my brand, ngaasadaro.”
Mr Attention said the initial agreement between the two was to share the proceeds equally.
No comment could be obtained from Whisky despite H-Metro’s attempts.
