RENOWNED sculptor, Dominic Benhura, will showcase his masterpieces at a solo exhibition in Germany.
The event is scheduled for July 7 in Mecklenburg Vorpommern, Germany.
In an interview with H-Metro, Benhura said he was ready for the exhibition and is already working on another piece that will be ready in July.
“The event is scheduled to be held at a beautiful private garden owned by one of my collectors in Germany.
“To showcase work from Zimbabwe, I will be exhibiting my animals, birds and family-oriented pieces.
“It is a great honour that my work is appreciated and I am glad I have fans who think my work is worth sharing with a wider audience internationally.
“This will not be my first time to do a solo exhibition but, at this place, yes, it will be my first time, we have done many shows in Germany before,” he said.
Benhura is one of Africa’s revered contemporary artists.
Through the years, Benhura has helped to transform Shona sculpture into world-class modern art.
He has showcased his collections at major venues and festivals such as the EXPO‘92 in Sevilla, EXPO 2000 in Hannover, the Yorkshire Sculpture Garden (UK), the Millesgarten Museum (Sweden), and in 2008 the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden (Holland).
