Jackie Selebi collapses after sentence

“He is not doing well,” said Wynanda Coetzee earlier.
She was part of the team that represented him at the trial where he was convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Selebi has 48 hours to report for his prison sentence after the Supreme Court of Appeal ruling.
She said he had not taken the news well and a doctor had been summoned.

“We are very worried . . . he can’t walk,” Coetzee said.

Selebi was found to have accepted money from convicted drug trafficker Glenn Agliotti.
Coetzee said that because of his bad turn, they had not been able to consult with Selebi on whether he would appeal the judgment. — Sapa.
