“Everything is now in place for the album release and we are going to sample some of the songs at the launch tonight,” he said.
Jah Prayzah has been performing some of the songs on the album to promote the project.
“Songs such as the title track ‘Tsviriyo’ and the one I feature Oliver Mtukudzi called ‘Cecelia’ have proved to be popular,” he said.
This is Jah Prayzah’s fourth album after the release of “Rudo Nerunyararo”, “Sungano Yerudo” and “Ngwarira Kuparara” recorded at Diamond Studios.
He has over 90 singles, which have reached out to fans through to piracy.
However, it remains to be seen if the album will enjoy the same airplay his previous offerings had.
His third album, “Ngwarira Kuparara”, catapulted him to stardom and won him awards.
“Chirangano Cherudo” was voted the most popular song while the partying anthem “Gochi Gochi” came second on Radio Zimbabwe Top 50 2012 competition.
His video for the song “Maria” was voted the best on ZBCTV’s shutdown chart show.
“Tsviriyo”, the song that has been a hit on shows, is about joy, happiness and love just like the songs “Gochi Gochi”, “Sori Mama” and “Sungano”.
“It’s always good to see that out of a bad thing there comes a good thing and piracy has really helped many artistes to market their music and myself as a musician.
“However, it (piracy) is now threatening the survival of record companies because artistes now depend on concerts and shows and not sales,” he said.
Backed by his Third Generation Band, Jah Prayzah says he was now aiming to become one of the top performers in the next five or so years. The last born in a family of five, Jah Prayzah is a father of one, Mukudzei Junior, and is married to Rufaro Chiworeso.
