A Bulawayo man has been imprisoned to an effective 15 years in jail for indecently assaulting his child’s classmate, who was helping the latter with school homework.
The 47-year-old man from Mpopoma, was convicted of aggravated indecent assault by the Western Commonage Magistrates’ Court.
The State’s case was that on 16 October last year, the man assaulted the 11-year-old complainant who was helping his daughter with homework.
The man’s daughter fell asleep, leaving the victim alone with him.
Seizing the opportunity, he approached the complainant, fondled her breasts and inserted his fingers into her privates repeatedly.
The victim reported the incident to her teacher who in turn made a police report leading to his arrest. – New Ziana.
