Controversial Bulawayo musician Chase Skuza is set to make his first appearance in the city after his release from prison in November.
Chase, brother to the late legendary Solomon Skuza was arrested on stage in June this year and sentenced to 231 days in prison for failing to pay $2 900 to a South Africa-based truck driver he had defrauded in 2015.
Skuza who claims to be a rebranded person will share his prison experience on Carols’ night at a local beer garden and most of all reconnect with his loyal fans.
“Skuza will make his appearance on 24 December at Makhalanga Beer Garden to reunite with his fans and share his prison experience with them,” said Skuza’s manager Jeremiah Ndlovu.
Skuza’s manager thinks such welcome shows are crucial in retaining the muso’s good image in communities and regain community trust.
“It’s not easy for any ex-convict to fit in back into society, so I think these welcome small shows will be best for him to really convince people that he has changed and is not a criminal after all,” said Ndlovu.
The new album which is set to be given to his fans is a collection of life lessons and what the artiste has learnt through the life he lived for 231 days.
After his release from prison Chase had a tour to reassure his fans that he was out and he was ready to be accepted into the community again.
At the moment the artiste is fully booked until January.
“The fact that people are still booking him is a sign that they have grown to accept Skuza, but this won’t stop us from visiting our fans to show them that the golden voice is back again and he has been baptised,” said Ndlovu
