Japan commissions health project

Speaking during a handover ceremony at Makhakavhule Health Centre, Mr Fukuda said the programme aims to reduce morbidity and mortality caused by communicable disease outbreaks and other emergencies. He said they had funded the rehabilitation of 18 rural clinics and the district hospital.

“These interventions included the installation of shortwave radios at the district hospital and 18 clinics, and in three ambulances, 13 solar panels as well as well four boreholes with submissive pumps were installed at Tongwe, Shashe, Zezani and Makhakavhule clinics in order to provide proper standard of health services” he said.

Mr Fukuda said the programme was in response to the devastating floods situation which had left various infrastructures extensively damaged in Beitbridge.
