A 29-YEAR-OLD Umguza man now knows that jealousy mixed with midnight accusations can quickly turn a bedroom into a crime scene.

Donald Sibanda appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Vimbai Chirai after he allegedly let the green eyed monster take over, assaulting his girlfriend over suspected infidelity.

Sibanda pleaded guilty to physical abuse and was remanded in custody until today.

Prosecutor Joseph Rugara told the court that the ugly drama occurred in the early hours of 31 January at around 2 AM when Sibanda returned home from Magobho compound.

Instead of going to bed, the accused allegedly woke up his girlfriend, Trishia Moyo, and accused her of having an affair with another man.

Moyo denied the allegations, but the denial only poured petrol on the flames.

The court heard that Sibanda became enraged and began punching and slapping Moyo repeatedly in the face. He allegedly pushed her to the ground and continued striking the right side of her head.

The attack only ended when neighbours called the police.

Moyo was referred to hospital for medical attention as investigations continue.
