Jennifer Lopez goes’80s!

She may have made her career in the nineties. But Jennifer Lopez, 45, looks to be an eighties girl at heart. On Tuesday new stills from the upcoming season of American Idol – which debuted yesterday evening – show ‘‘The Boy Next Door’’ actress with some very big hair as she poses with fellow judges Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr as well as host Ryan Seacrest.

Adding to the eighties-inspired look, the Selena star also donned a pair of big gold hoop earrings as she posed with her fellow judges and host Seacrest on the reality singing competition show.

She finished off her look with a black top featuring rips in the long sleeves .

The four television personalities even joined the Waiting For Tonight singer for a selfie as they crowded in for a picture set to the backdrop of San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

Noticeably absent from the panel was longtime judge Randy Jackson. He will be replaced by music executive Scott Borchetta.

There will also be a new format for the show as it will cut back to a two-hour show once a week on Wednesdays instead of two episodes a week.

Last year’s season 13 saw ratings dip to an all-time low weekly average of 10.2m viewers, according to Nielsen company figures.

Those numbers are about a third of the 30.2 million the reality show received at its peak in 2006, when Taylor Hicks claimed the title over runner-up Katharine McPhee.

Jennifer has not posted selfies in several days. But on Tuesday she posted a new one as she posed in the back of a Rolls Royce.

The triple-threat star showed off her cleavage in a grey knit sweater as she had her hair back in a ponytail.

She completed the look with dangling hoop earrings and natural, complementary make-up on her face with a pop of colour in the form of shiny pink lipstick.

Jennifer captioned the shot: ‘‘Hi everybody… #2015 #happynewyear #imbaaack #LOVE #firstselfieoftheyear #JLoBodyLab #BeTheGirl.’

American Idol season 14 was set to premiere yesterday at 8pm on Fox.— Daily Mail.
