BULAWAYO came alive with laughter on a chilly Saturday night, August 14, as acclaimed Zimbabwean comedian Learnmore Jonasi delivered a memorable performance before a packed and cosmopolitan audience at a local entertainment spot as part of his “Whose Lion Is It Anyway” nationwide tour.

The show drew comedy enthusiasts from across the city and beyond, bringing together a diverse audience of black and white fans united by a shared appreciation for stand-up comedy.
Jonasi was supported by a strong line-up of local comedians, including Djuni, Frank Chirisa, Bexta, Tanya Alex, Patrick Zindoga and Chipenzi, who kept the audience entertained ahead of the headline act.
Bexta opened the show with an energetic set inspired by his personal experiences, successfully warming up the crowd. He also served as the master of ceremonies, introducing each performer throughout the evening.

Djuni, Frank Chirisa, Chipenzi and Patrick Zindoga followed with lively performances that maintained momentum as anticipation continued to build for Jonasi’s appearance.
Tanya Alex, the only female comedian on the line-up, took to the stage as the penultimate act.
Delivering her set with calm confidence, she gradually fed off the audience’s energy and earned warm responses from the crowd.
Anticipation reached its peak when Bexta announced Jonasi’s arrival.
The audience rose to its feet and erupted into cheers as Jonasi stepped onto the stage.
Performing before a home crowd, Jonasi drew heavily on stories from his upbringing in Chimanimani, his experiences in the United States and his recent legal dispute involving South
African producer and composer Lebohang Morake.
His high-energy delivery, sharp timing and polished comedic style kept the audience captivated throughout his set, connecting with people from different backgrounds and underscoring comedy’s power to unite.
At the end of the show, Jonasi invited fans onto the stage for photographs, giving them an opportunity to meet the comedian and providing a fitting finale to the Bulawayo leg of his “Whose Lion Is It Anyway” nationwide tour.
Jonasi’s next stop will be Masvingo as he continues his tour across Zimbabwe.
