Press Club.
The Press Club leadership also unveiled computerisation and housing delivery programmes to benefit journalists in the province.
Three senior journalists from both the private and public media received the laptops.
Six other journalists would soon be proud owners of housing stands acquired through the assistance of patron Mr Jusby Omar.
Mr Omar, a prominent businessman in Masvingo, pledged to acquire the laptops and housing stands for journalists in the province before the end of the year.
Mr Omar said the hand-over was aimed at making sure that journalists had the equipment to discharge their duties.
“We are going to make sure that before the end of this year every journalist in Masvingo province will be a proud owner of a lap top computer and a housing stand.
“We strongly believe that if properly utilised the Press Club can become a platform for the exchange of ideas that will stimulate socio-economic development in the province,” he said.
Guest of honour and Harare-based lawyer, Mr Trust Sengwayo decried media polarisation in Zimbabwe.
He appealed for factual and objective reporting from journalists in the country.
Mr Sengwayo said the media played a critical role in engendering development and challenged it to play a leading role in nation building.
Masvingo Press Club chairman Mr Desmond Duri said the donations were a step in the right direction as most of the journalists did not have adequate resources.
He said the stands scheme was also crucial as most of the journalists were tenants.
