LIFT, a Bulawayo-based company, has donated 50 blankets to cancer patients at Mpilo Central Hospital’s oncology and palliative care unit.
Speaking during a handover ceremony held at the hospital on Thursday, Lift representative Miss Kudzai Pfute said they are is extending their support to include men fighting prostate cancer.
“We have been doing various donations, but this time we saw the need to also focus on supporting men affected by prostate cancer. Our goal is to bring humanity to healthcare and ease the burden of treatment where we can,” she said.

Mpilo Central Hospital’s sister-in-charge of the hospital’s oncology and palliative care unit, Sister Blessed Goredema expressed deep gratitude for the continued support.
“We are truly grateful to Lift for consistently showing love and support to our patients. These blankets offer more than just physical warmth, they are as comforting as medicine itself,” she said.
“Previously, Lift donated sanitary pads, and now they’re also focusing on men. That shows real commitment to the fight against cancer.”
Cancer patient Mr Nhlanhla Masiwela shared a touching personal story during the event.
“When I first came to Mpilo last year, I was brought in a wheelbarrow because I couldn’t walk or care for myself. I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer and had lost all hope,” he said.
“But thanks to the Radiotherapy Department’s care and kindness, I found renewed strength and faith in life.”
