JR Goddard completes 200 projects

A LEADING construction company, JR Goddard Contracting Company, has successfully completed at least 200 projects since its inception 32 years ago, a company official has said.

JR Goddard Contracting Company founder and director, Mr Jim Ross Goddard said the company had over the years continued to stay afloat despite economic challenges facing many other companies.

“Over the last 32 years, JRG has steadily grown and we are now regarded as specialists in large-scale earth works, civil construction and infrastructure development. We have enjoyed major achievements in our field, successfully completing 200 contracts since our inception right across the length and breadth of Zimbabwe,” Mr Goddard said.

He said his company now employed more than 1 000 workers.

“We recognise that our employees are our most valuable asset. We currently employ over 200 salaried staff members and over 1 000 waged staff. We remain solidly committed to their health, safety and well being. In turn our teams work hard, earning JRG respect and recognition within the construction and mining industry,” said Mr Goddard.

He said the company had a large fleet of vehicles and equipment to complement all the major works they were undertaking.

“JRG currently operates 120 major items of earth moving equipment and boasts a transport fleet of over 100 vehicles with ancillary equipment,” he added.

The company has been reportedly involved in several high profile projects around the country.

The projects include construction works at Murowa Diamond Mine, Freda Rebecca Gold Mine and at the Deka Coalfields in Hwange.

JR Goddard Contracting has also been active at Ngezi Platinum Mine and Hwange Colliery. The earthworks company has additionally worked on numerous gravel roads on mine and agricultural sites as well as main road bridges.

J R Goddard Contracting worked with Group Five in the reconstruction of the Plumtree to Mutare highway, a project which included the construction of three state-of-the-art toll plazas in Figtree, Bulawayo and Gweru.
