THE Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has warned members of the public to be cautious after an official receipt book issued to Kadoma Magistrates Court went missing.
In a public notice, the JSC said the missing triplicate receipt book carries serial numbers 2401101 to 2401200 and was reported missing on 8 April 2026.
The Commission said receipts issued from the book bearing receipt numbers 2401179 to 2401200 after the date it was reported missing will be considered invalid and will not be honoured.
“Members of the public are advised that any receipt issued from this receipt book from receipt number 2401179 to 2401200 after the date it was reported missing shall be considered invalid and will not be honoured by the Commission,” reads part of the notice.
The JSC urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious receipts linked to the missing book to the police or nearest JSC offices.
Court receipt books are used for official payments such as fines, filing fees and other court-related transactions.
The Commission also appealed to anyone with information on the whereabouts of the receipt book to report the matter to the authorities.
Observers say the disappearance of official court receipt books is not only an administrative concern but also a potential criminal matter that requires urgent investigation to establish how the document went missing and whether it may already have been abused.
