Judah Nsingo dies

FORMER Zifa panel referee Judah Nsingo has died at the age of 79.

A nephew of Nsingo, George Sibanda, confirmed on Friday that his uncle passed on on Wednesday after a battle with diabetes and prostate cancer.

“He is no more. He died on Wednesday and will be buried on Sunday in Gwatemba, Filabusi. There will be a church service tomorrow (today) followed by his farewell at his Bellevue home,” said Sibanda.

He said the family had lost a pillar.

Nsingo started his refereeing in the 1970s and was among the top referees in Bulawayo and region at Independence and officiated well into the 1990s.

He was a member of the provincial executive handling appointments.

He will be buried at Gwatemba on Sunday.

His church service will be held at Doves this afternoon.
