SUSPENDED Chipinge town secretary, Susan Dube, who is facing two criminal abuse of office charges, will know her fate today (Thursday).

Chipinge magistrate, Mr Franklin Mkwananzi, who is presiding over the cases, is expected to pass the judgement after the State and Dube’s attorneys made their submissions recently.

Mr Mkwananzi is expected to deliver the verdict on Dr Dube and her co-accused, Jeffry Mwakachiyeyi, a water superintendent with the local authority.

The two allegedly connived to illegally take PVC pipes from their employer for personal use at Dube’s Kenilworth Farm which is situated about eight kilometres from Chipinge town.

The value of the pipes is US$639 and they were recovered.

Another case against Dube for allegedly offering an intern a residential stand under staff quota is still pending.

Meanwhile, the independent tribunal set by the council to investigate the suspended council boss is also expected to deliver its findings anytime soon.
