JUNIOR Chamber of Mines Zimbabwe is on Friday set to start technical visits to small and medium-scale mining operations, to bring together stakeholders in the sector to discuss issues affecting formalisation and access to finance.

The primary idea behind the visits is to provide participants with hands-on experience, exchange of practical knowledge, and insight into mining operations, technologies, and best practices.
The association seeks to build bridges and links for medium and small-scale miners to transform their operations to mechanised and professional mining with due respect to compliance with mining laws and regulations.

Running under the theme: “Promoting professional and Sustainable mining, and Zero Harm JCMZ secretary general Mr Dosman Mangisis said this will help to deal with barriers that affect the sector, especially financing.
Mr Mangisi said they are working on a three-tier initiative where financial institutions, mining companies, and suppliers will be working together.
