JUST IN: 12 killed in Murambinda accident

TWELVE people, including the driver, died while several others were injured when a bus they were travelling in was involved in an accident on the 5km peg along the Murammbinda-Chivhu Road this morning.

 

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the accident, saying the driver lost control of the bus before it veered off the road and crashed.

 

Assistant Commissioner Nyathi said 40 passengers were on board.

 

“12 people, including the driver, were killed when a Timboom bus carrying 40 passengers veered off the road and crashed on the 5km peg along the Murambinda-Chivhu Road. Police attended the scene and are conducting investigations to establish the cause of the accident. More details will be released in due course,” he said.

 

Assistant Commissioner Nyathi urged motorists and other road users to exercise caution at all times.
