JUST IN: Covid-19 claims 17

THE country recorded 17 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours while new cases stand at 160, all which are local cases of transmission, the Ministry of Health and Child Care has reported.

According to the daily national Covid-19 update from the Ministry, there were 539 new recoveries reported while the National recovery rate stands at 79.2 percent.

Active cases have gone down to 5731. As of Monday, 2433 tests had been done and positivity was at 6.6 percent.

“As of 31 January 2021, at 1500 hours there were 177 hospitalised cases, 99 mild to moderate, 69 severe and 9 in intensive care units,” reported the ministry.

As of 1 February 2021, Zimbabwe has now recorded 33 548 cases, 26 583 recoveries and 1234 deaths. – @NyembeziMu
