ONE person died on the spot, while several others were injured after a Mutare-bound Tenda bus overturned just after Rusape.
Reports indicate that the bus driver who was about to overtake a haulage truck was suddenly waived done by traffic police officers.
He tried to reduce speed and get back to his lane, but lost control of the bus which overturned and landed on its side in the middle of the road.
Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Muzondo said he was still to get finer details of the accident.
A bus conductor who was in a different bus which was following behind said passengers quickly rescued the injured who were whisked away to Rusape General Hospital.
“One person died on the spot and his body was covered with a blanket,” said the conductor who refused to be named.
