NGEZI Platinum coach Kifton Kadurira believes their victory over Chegutu Pirates is a sign of good days to come in their World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league campaign.
The 3-0 win saw them move three places up the ladder from 11th place to eighth position.
“If you look at the Northern Region, it’s a tight contest. As newcomers, we were losing but playing well,” said Kadurira.
“We were losing by small margins, but the boys were playing very well and now we feel we are moving in the right direction.
“We are beginning to pick up some points and on Saturday they played very well. So, I think the guys are getting confident.”
Kadurira said they are fighting to finish the league on a respectable position.
“We can’t say much about the race because it’s still premature; any of the teams can win the league, but our first goal is to finish in a reasonable position. Winning the league will be a bonus,” said Kadurira.
Karoi United coach Luckson Phiri believes his team will also do well.
“We have managed to pick up points during the past few weeks. We beat Commando and we managed a draw against DStv Rangers; at least we have started to collect some points.
“I can confirm that all players are back, save for Blessing Magaya who is with his mother who is not feeling well.
“Our expectation for now is to improve our position on the log,” said Phiri.
