Kaindu braces for tougher second round

Highlanders were held to a 1-1 draw by fellow giants Dynamos in an evenly contested Castle Lager Premiership match at Barbourfields on Sunday to wind off the opening 15 games unbeaten.
Takesure Chinyama gave DeMbare the lead after just three minutes but Milton Ncube evened the scores for Highlanders midway in the second half.
Highlanders had a chance to wrap up the match after they won a penalty which midfielder Mthulisi Maphosa failed to convert as Dynamos goalkeeper George Chigova saved the attempt.
The game had been outstanding from round five as DeMbare were involved in the African Champions League matches.
Now after the first round, the Bulawayo giants have managed to win nine matches and drawing six ties for their tally of 33 points.
Buffaloes, Motor Action, Chicken Inn, Quelaton, Dynamos and Harare City are the teams that secured a point each from Bosso with the Premiership leaders scoring 27 goals while conceding nine.
“I do not know much about how the other teams will play but I think we are now the team to beat in the second round.
“Everyone would be playing to beat us and its going to be tougher for us,” said Kaindu.
The Zambian coach, a former Highlanders player himself, said the team has performed well beyond expectations.
Highlanders last won the championship in 2006 under the mentorship of Methembe Ndlovu and Bosso are fancying another championship medal following a credible first round.
“Well, the team performed well in the first round.
“We were never given a chance by people because we had a crop of youngsters.
“Its quite encouraging that we finished the first round without defeat,” said Kaindu.
Kaindu took over the dressing room after Bosso parted ways with Mkhupali Masuku at the end last season.
“I think teamwork has helped us through.
“It’s also by the grace of God,” said Kaindu.
Bosso have built their squad around goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda who is deputised by Munyaradzi Diya.
At last Mususa, Bruce Kangwa, Peter “Rio” Moyo, Milton Ncube, Graham Ncube, Innocent Mapuranga, Eric Mudzingwa and Masimba Mambare have formed the core of the Bosso squad.
Kaindu did now rule out adding more players to his squad in the second half.
“The window is still open and but I cannot say if we will add more players or not,” he said.
The game against Motor Action at Rufaro that finished goalless was in Kaundu’s opinion the toughest for Bosso.
“All the games were not easy. We started well but the games became a bit tough as teams realised that we were winning matches.
“But the game against Motor Action was one match were had to work hard because it was an open game.
“I have also found the level of the league very competitive,” said Kaindu. Shabanie Mine are in second place, on 29 points, while Buffaloes have been the surprise packets of the season as the Premiership returnees occupy third place.
