A number of companies, sports associations, and practitioners are attending the workshop, the first of its kind organised by the local authority. Various speakers will touch on various topics related to sport and how it can be harnessed to grow sports tourism.

Sensei Branco Manyathela, the chief instructor of the Academy said the indaba is important in that it will allow practitioners like him to interact with others.

Shokokai are demonstrating karate outside the hall and have been attracting passersby with their colourful mats and attire on the City Hall gardens.
