Karoi Utd coach a happy man

KAROI United coach, Levison Solus believes his troops have now discovered the cutting edge, which they lacked in the reverse fixtures, following their 2-1 away victory over PAM United.

The victory took Solus’s men to 28 points.

They are now 10 points off the top four spot in the ZIFA Northern Region Division One Soccer League.

“I was expecting a positive result from the boys because physically, mentally and tactically, I thought we were on point, coming into this game.

“We managed our opponents well from the start up to the final whistle, we had full control of the game and it was very encouraging to watch as a coach.

“Our targets have not changed, our priority is to play quality football to entertain our fans and survive relegation,” said Solus.

Richard Chunga’s Chegutu Pirates continued their impressive run when they edged Ngezi Under-19 1-0 over the weekend.

They were coming from a 1-0 win over Simba Bhora. Simba Bhora were held to a goalless draw by John Toto’s Black Mambas.

Arthur “Tuts” Tutani’s men have now failed to score in the capital in their four visits.

Ralph Kawondera’s Trojan Stars came from behind to settle for a 1-1 stalemate against Gilbert Mushangazhike’s Golden Eagles.

CUMA Academy redeemed themselves with a 1-0 victory over Come & Motor.

The loss for Come & Motor means they have just registered a win in 19 attempts.

The whipping boys, Harare City Cubs, who have spent the larger part in the drop-zone, suffered yet another 0-1 loss at the hands of Chinhoyi Stars.

Pacesetters, Herentals Under-20, who are 46 points in 20 assignments, were not in action over the weekend.

Simba Bhora and Golden Eagles are tied on 43 points apiece.
