ZIFA Eastern Region Division One will award their best 11 performers of the season in the presence of former Warriors midfielder and Zifa board member, Edzai Kasinauyo tomorrow (Saturday).
The event which starts at 10am will be held at Wise Owl Motel.
Zifa Eastern Region becomes the third region to award their best players of the season after the Northern and Southern regions did the same soon after completing their 2015 league fixtures.
Simba Wisdom, the Zifa Eastern Region secretary confirmed that they will be awarding the best 11 players as well as the coach of the year and secretary of the year.
The former Buffaloes defender also confirmed that Kasinauyo will grace the occasion.
“We will have the end of season awards at Wise Owl Motel on Saturday (tomorrow). This is the first time that we are doing this and we are happy that we have finally managed to do it.
“With the limited resources at our disposal we feel the initiative will go a long way in motivating the players, coaches and administrators at club level.
“Zifa board member and former Warriors’ player, Edzai Kasinauyo confirmed that he will come down to Mutare for the event. Although it is not yet confirmed, he is likely to be our guest of honour during the event,’ he said.
The selection of the best players of the season was done by the head coaches of the 16 clubs in the league, while the secretary of the year was selected by the Zifa Eastern Region board.
The secretary of the year award, according to Wisdom, is meant for the secretary who communicated effectively with league administrators during the course of the season.
