world, is accused of being a ruthless marriage wrecker.
So says angry and bitter divorcee Alicia Dlamini, the ex-wife of Eskom executive Leo Dlamini.
“Look, sir, I don’t want to talk about that woman. She wrecked my marriage and messed up my family,” Alicia said when we called her.
Last month KB, who is also divorced, proudly posed with her “new man” for a weekly newspaper.
Alicia is hopping mad. Changing her mind about spilling the beans, she says: “Yes, I have all the evidence that KB is responsible for my husband leaving me and the kids. I have evidence that they were together way before our divorce.”
She confirms that KB lives just down the road from her.
“Yes, I know her complex. It’s just a few blocks away from my house. We were married for 10 years and I left my job in human resources to become a housewife and then this happens. I sacrificed my career to be a loving wife and mother to our two children,” she says.
Our source, who is close to the couple, says the pair were fine before KB came into their lives.
“They were a great couple and loving family. Then this KB woman came into their lives. She was known as a family friend,” says the source.
The source says KB met Leo in Davos in Switzerland at the 2010 World Economic Forum, where KB sang for the guests.
“Leo was representing his company there,” explains the source.
“He came back and bought his wife a new car and they were happy for a while. He bought her a Volvo and he was the loving hubby he had always been,” our informant says.
“But shortly after the car gift, Leo started acting like an adolescent. He started coming home late and at times slept out. He was no longer the family man who cared about the kids. He’d come home at 4am or 5am.
“Alicia called family members to a meeting to try and settle her husband down. He admitted he’d met some friends in Switzerland and said he knew Alicia wouldn’t approve of them. She tried everything in her power to get him to talk about the new friends he’d met overseas.
“When she went through her husband’s phone, Alicia saw a woman’s calls and smses but had no clue who she was – until one day a friend called her and told her that if she wanted to know where her hubby was, she must go to News Café at the Woodmead Shopping Centre (northern Jozi).
“Her husband was there with KB.”
Instead of rushing to Woodmead, she googled KB and found out she was in Switzerland on the same dates as her husband.
“She then called the relevant people and confirmed they were both at the mall,” says the source.
Their first-born child also supplied some information.
“While they were driving to the shops he pointed to KB’s complex and said daddy took him there to visit another aunt. Alicia immediately stopped by and pretended to be a fan of KB’s, but the security told her she couldn’t go in without KB’s consent,” says the source.
The relationship deteriorated. Alicia and Leo were eventually estranged and later divorced. The divorce was finalised last month.
“There is another problem. KB keeps on buying gifts for her kids and Alicia is scared because KB was once accused of using umuthi, so she might do something bad to her kids,” says the source.
“She can’t trust her around her kids and if KB keeps on buying gifts for the kids she will sue her for alienation of affection.”
KB also went through the rigours of divorce – from her husband Terry Pinana, the father of her child – three years ago. – sundayworld.co.za
