Khami United gets promoted to Div One …..as Herentels and Hillside face the chop

AFTER posting a 1-0 win over Cowdray Park over the weekend Khami United have earned promotion into the Zifa Southern Region Division One League.

With two games to go, Khami United took their points tally to a distant 65 points, seven ahead of second placed Njube Spurs.

Njube Spurs, who are on 58 points, are still in a fight for a first runner finish with third placed East Rovers

Zifa Bulawayo Province’s executive chairman, Francis Ntuta said: “We say congratulations to Khami Rovers, they did a very good job.

We still await to see who will be our first and second runners up. The relegation battle is still on and with the two games to go, teams that are going to be relegated are yet to be confirmed,” said Ntuta.

East Rovers have amassed a total of 53 points, one ahead of fourth placed Chicken Inn with college sides Hillside Teachers College and Herentals College facing the dreaded chop.

In the past weekend, Hilisuide College played a two all draw against MPOSA to take their points tally to 17 while Herentals remained glued on a paltry six points.

In the Zifa Matebeleland North province Division Two League, Mosi Rovers look well on course to clinch the championship after 22 rounds of play.

The former Southern Region Division One side in on 55 points, two aheahead of second placed Golden Lions who beat Banyayi 2-0.

Mosin Rovers thumped seventh placed Twelve Stars 4-0.
On position three, Classic Luyando were 7-2 victors over bottom placed Victoria Falls Academy.

The league’s relegation matrix includes Victoria Falls Academy and Monde Academy. The latter had their game against Sao Paulo postponed.
Sao Paulo are number six on the log standings with 30 points after a weekend action that saw Nakaluba Warriors play a one all stalemate against LXG Lite.
