“I will fight hard to ensure people donate blood and that there are resources for screening the donated blood among other involved processes,” she said.
“I am going to make a presentation to the Council of Ministers as well as to Cabinet with regards to legislation that supports available policy on blood transfusion.”
DPM Khupe expressed her appreciation at the work done by NBTS to ensure clean and safe blood was transfused to patients.
Speaking at the same occasion, Prof Sadza said she would help demystify donating blood.
“I do not know why our fellow people do not want to donate blood,” she said. “There are very few Zimbabwean names on the list of donors who have reached 100 donations in their lifetime.”
Earlier, NBSZ finance and administration manager Mr Zamile Musekiwa said NBSZ faced financial challenges. He said they had limited specialists to support customers.
