Kids in trouble

A HARARE woman was yesterday granted a protection order against her husband for emotional abuse.

Tamburai Kanhuwa said she is living in fear of her husband, Jason Matema, who has developed a habit of waking up the children in wee hours of the night claiming they are not his kids.

Tamburai also told the court that Jason chases her and their three minor children from home whenever he pleases.

“It has been hell living with him. He has a habit of waking up my children in the middle of the night.

“He has been accusing me of cheating and is claiming that our second child is not his.

“My children are now traumatised because of his acts, they no longer sleep well at night,” Said Tamburai.

In response, Jason did oppose the protection order, and magistrate Sharon Mashavire ordered him not to abuse his children.

She told him if he had any doubts, he should do a paternity test and not take out his frustrations on the children.
