Killer dad jailed 25 years

THE High Court in Gokwe has sentenced Thomas Nyamadzawo to 25 years in jail for murdering his four-year-old daughter in a fit of rage.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority, on February 19, at around 11.33 pm, Nyamadzawo (53) returned home and had a disagreement with his wife over an undisclosed issue.

During a heated exchange, the accused armed himself with an axe and swung it at his wife.

He missed and the axe struck his daughter, who was in his wife’s arms, once on the forehead before someone intervened, disarmed him and pulled him out of the hut.

Nyamadzawo’s wife failed to get transport to take their daughter to the hospital and she succumbed to her injuries.
