EX-CID detective, Jaison Muvhevhi, is expected to be transferred to Harare to face justice for callously gunning down three people in Wedza last Friday.

Muvhevhi was nabbed while trying to cross into Mozambique on Monday.

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said Muvhevhi had been transported to Mutare yesterday under heavy police guard.

He promised to release more details about the charges the fugitive former cop is facing.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police has successfully completed the repatriation of Jaison Muvhevhi. He is in Mutare and will be taken to Harare.

“Details of the charges he is facing will be given tomorrow (today),” said Ass Comm Nyathi.

Police had launched a manhunt for the fugitive gold dealer, who went on a shooting spree, leaving three people dead, among them the Officer-in-Charge of Wedza Police Station, as well as an apostolic sect Madzibaba and a barman.

He abandoned the Toyota Allion vehicle and FN rifle he used to kill the three as the police closed in on him in Chipinge.

Meanwhile, a church service for the Officer-in-Charge of Wedza Police Station, Inspector Maxwell Hove, who was gunned down in the shooting rampage, will be conducted this morning at the Police Chapel, Mkushi Depot, in Harare.

Commissioner General of Police, Godwin Matanga, is expected to lead the church service.
