KIWI CARNAGE! BlackCaps bat Zimbabwe into the Ground

NEW Zealand are in cruise control at Queens Sports Club after piling on a mammoth 601 for 3 in their second Test against Zimbabwe.

The BlackCaps lead by 476 runs after a brutal batting masterclass on Friday that saw three players score centuries, each outscoring Zimbabwe’s entire first innings total of 125.

Day two was a run fest as the visitors hammered 427 runs for the loss of just two wickets. In a final burst of dominance, they surged from 500 to 600 in only 12 overs.

It is only the third time in Test cricket history that an innings has featured three scores of 150 or more. The previous occasions were England against Australia in 1938 and India against Sri Lanka in 1986.

Devon Conway top-edged the milestone with 153 runs from 245 balls before falling, while Henry Nicholls and Rachin Ravindra remain unbeaten on 150 and 165 respectively.

With a declaration looming, all eyes are on how much more punishment New Zealand will inflict before sending Zimbabwe back in.
