you can be kept on the loop and follow the conversations with ease:
Chali/Charlie/Chalay: Alex gets the credit for bringing this one to the House. This slang term, used in place of “JOE”, is something you’d say when referring to a friend. Kim and Nic have adopted this and are often heard calling each other “Chali”. Listen out for: “You dig this Chali? “
Buya or Booyah! Berndadina has popularised this one! Used to tell or serve someone if you got something right and prove someone wrong, you say it. An example would be when the Heads won their Task, they were heard shouting “Booyah!”
“Um Jus Sayn”: Luclay can hardly finish a sentence without saying “I’m just saying”. You use this phrase when “You are just saying”. Weza, Bernadina and Miss P are also caught using this phrase quite often
“Otono”: Now pronounced in deep Pidgin English by Karen, this is a nickname adopted by the man with many nicknames, Luclay.
Not content with Luclay, Clayton or Denzel, he now answers to Otono as well. This word means . . . Well, we have no idea what it means but people like Mumba have also caught on and Lotus liked using it as well.
“That’s a very good question. I’ll get back to you” – You’re likely to get this response if you ask an Amplified contestant a difficult question. Remember when Ernest asked Weza if she had ever been caught by cops having sex in the car? That’s the answer she gave him.
“Bad man status”: You’re certain to hear the Tails guys say this a lot. They use this phrase to refer to playas or just bad guys in general. So, whenever they are up to something mischievous, you’ll hear them say “We got bad man status.”
“We Are Trending! Or sometimes not”: Depending on the occasion and its cool quotient, the Tailsmates will rate themselves and let the continent know if they think they’re “trending” or not. Viewers can thank Ernest, and social networking, for this contribution.
The list will definitely get longer as the show progresses. Does Africa know of any more that we may have missed here? – DStv.
